Freelance Animator Websites

Although I'd looked at company websites, as I'm designing a website to promote myself rather than a business, I started looking at the websites of some freelance animators, to see what they did differently to promote themselves specifically. Both websites I looked at used similar design layouts to those of bigger companies. The main priority seemed to be showcasing their body of work. For an individuals website, it's important that the homepage instantly gives people an idea of what you do, and indicate to them that yours is a website they want to look into further. The logos of both websites was something that I picked up on. Both had incorporated their names into their logos, which made sense as it continues the idea of self promotion, which is the main goal in having your own website. The differences in the websites, between freelance and business, were mostly in ways that made the website more personal to the individual. The about section gave a description of what that persons strengths were, and what experience they had. The contact options given allowed the option to contact the person directly, through email, phone and social media.
What I took from looking at these freelance websites, was that it's equally important to promote myself as much as is to promote the projects I'm working on.
