The Layout Side of Things

After getting some feedback on my website, I was made aware of a few things I had failed to consider when I first put the website together. When I looked at the websites of the companies from my business report (Pixar/The Mill etc.), I had been focusing on the content of the websites, and not so much the layout and actual design of the sites. It was pointed out to me that I had made my website too clinical, which had stripped it of any sense of personality. After making some changes to improve my site, I looked at more film/animation companies websites to see if I could take any inspiration from them. Websites like Warner Bros. were very well structured in the way they were set out, which makes the site easier to navigate around, and keeps it looking clean, and professional. With the animation websites, they have a much more creative feel to them, which reflects the work they show on their homepages. The bright colours they tend to use, combined with the fonts and the placement of visual aids, give the sites an sense of energy, which has helped me get an idea of how to convey more of my personality through my website.
